Hello! I’m excited to share with you my latest go-to brand for shampoo, Maple Holistics.
I’ve been using Maple Holistics’ shampoo for about 8 months now. I first discovered the shampoo on Amazon and was blown away by the great reviews, good price, ingredients, and overall value. Having dyed my hair regularly for the past 20+ years, I’ve tried countless shampoos ranging from the basic department store brands to high end salon quality brands. It’s really hard to find a great product! Especially one that won’t break the piggy bank!

Just before my trip to Japan, I was contacted by Maple Holistics to do a review on their Tea Tree Oil Shampoo ($8.95). I haven’t been accepting reviews or guest posts lately, but I had to accept this one since I love-love-love their Sage Shampoo ($14.95).
The Tea Tree Oil Shampoo shipment was waiting for me after I returned from my vacation trip to Japan. I’ve been using the shampoo for about 2-weeks now, and I have nothing but positive things to say.
My 8 oz. shampoo bottle was securely bubble wrapped and placed in a bubble wrap lined envelope. The outside of the packaging was labeled with a promotional sticker focusing on the benefits (this is stuff I usually glaze over).
The shampoo bottle itself has a cap that you push to pop open. Nothing fancy here, just your standard non-pump bottle dispenser. What I do like however, is that the shampoo comes sealed, so you’ll need to rip off the protectant seal. Believe it or not, I’ve had bad past experiences from other companies where I’ve received half filled bottles… Sometimes that leads me to wonder if my product has been tampered with.
On the label, the directions read as follows:
Rinse hair, massage quarter-sized amount throughout scalp, allow the therapeutic benefits a few minutes (2-3) to absorb before rinsing. Repeat and follow with a final rinse.
When I’m in a rush (which is most days), I don’t actually do the second part that reads “repeat and follow with a final rinse.” With just one go, the result is basically the same as with two. When time allows for it, I do enjoy a double shampooing session to help me relax. Something about the smell is calming and the action of massaging it gently into my scalp does it, too.
Note: The directions on the shampoo are the same for both Tea Tree Oil and Sage! As for the ingredients, they are almost identical, up until the last few natural oils added in.
The shampoo comes out fairly easily. I’ve never had any issue with any of my bottles, getting out the last of the product. It’s smooth, has a good weight to it, looks like a white/silvery metallic, and smells amazing. You can totally smell the tea tree oil, with some lavender and rosemary in there as well. I’m not sure what jojoba or argan oil smells like, but it’s in there as well.
I typically wash my hair every 2-3 days.
The before photo shows my hair at 3 days unwashed. It’s hard to tell from that photo, but my hair is a little oily, and has some dandruff (I have a bad habit of picking my scalp sometimes).
In the after photo, all of the dandruff is gone, my hair is no longer oily, but more importantly, it isn’t over dried! Also it has a great shine to it!

The descriptions on the product themselves don’t really do a great job distinguishing the difference between the two, but I think I figured it out from looking at the website:
Get the Sage Shampoo if you have a problem with dandruff
Get the Tea Tree Oil Shampoo if you have hair loss and want to promote new growth
Overall, I love both of these shampoos!! Both are great value and get the job done. I might actually just have to have both and switch off between them on a case-by-case basis.
