Last month, I was blessed with a delightful weekend up in the snowy mountains of Big Bear, California.
It was one of the coldest weekends of winter, with record lows. We had quite a journey making our way over to the cabin after work on Friday, but we eventually got there.
Much of our time was spent in the recreation room of the cabin. There was an air hockey table, pool table, dart board, beer pong table, and even a indoor hot tub and sana.
On Friday night, as we waited for the rest of our friends to arrive at the cabin, we began partying with a few games of beer pong, maybe a shot or two, and a game of kings cup.
Once everyone arrived, we began cooking up some yummy meals. This group of friends were seriously over prepared with the foods. At my last cabin trip, we didn’t really have much to eat but snacks and chips. But wow, this time around with this new group, they had prepared gourmet soups and noodles, rice dishes, full course breakfast meals, and way more. You wouldn’t believe the amount of prepared food that they brought.
While everyone was busy helping prepare food and eating, I was busy painting my nails with Jiawen’s nail polishes.
Our other friend Lorna brought her new hookah set! Wow, I must have been out of the hookah scene for a long time, because I’ve never seen a hookah set like this one before. It’s genius! And what’s even better is that Lorna just seemed to always set up the hookah at the right times, all the time!
Throughout the night we drank and drank, and slowly people ended up in bed somehow. Here’s a new game that I’ve never played before, Loopin’ Louie! It’s actually a game for kids, but it makes an awesome drinking game! Basically theres an airplane that goes around in circles and you want to try to knock over the other player’s lives (the 3 coins that you see).
Haha, this game is simple but some what addicting. Add in some alcohol to the game, and its the best!
The next morning we decided to go out to explore the area around our cabin up in Big Bear. Here are a bunch of photos that we took during the day! Enjoy~
The snow was soooooo beautiful. I’ve never seen fresh snow like this before! It was super fine and powdery, and glittered like diamonds. No joke. I was in winter wonderland heaven.
I’m usually not very good at taking these jumping photos.. But I do know that the key to taking a good jumping photos involves bending your knees!
Haiiiya! I just ninja karate kicked you!
My favorite couple to hang out with, Jiawen and John. I swear we are always on double dates.
Ok, I must apologize. This particular blog post gets quite intimate as there are lots of photos of me with people that I love and care for very much.
S & T!! Forever and ever and ever
I was really happy because before this trip, Teewa gave me a cute little gift. It was an earring with the letter “S” for my name. She has the letter “T” for herself. Thus, now we really are “S & T”! Lol.
I’m not sure how I ended up on Erick’s shoulders, but I wanted to climb up. It was fun. But maybe not so fun for him, hahaha.
Awww, I feel like we don’t have many cute photos together, so I am quite pleased that we now have a few.
Look! I carved a heart out of snow. Lol, my little masterpiece.
Not sure why we are sitting in the back trunk of an SUV. But here I am giving my heart to my boyfriend! I think he wanted to smash the heart though, lol. I’m sure that would have been fun.
By the time we finished exploring the area and playing outside in the snow, my fingers were entirely frozen because I didn’t have snow gloves. We ended up going inside and watching Django. I already saw it before so I decided to play pool, beer pong, and go in the hot tub instead.
Sometime along the way, it became dinner time. We ended up having a wrapping party (some kinda vietnamese food), where you take rice paper and dip it into water to make it soft and fill it with whatever you want inside. You wrap it like a burrito!
After dinner we played some taboo and also took shots!! House shot time!
For the rest of the night we played more drinking games like rage cage. This was my first time playing this game but I was hooked!! You should check it out if you haven’t before.
On Sunday, we had breakfast, cleaned up the cabin, and got ready to head out. Before leaving Big Bear, we stopped by the lake to take some photos.
Big Bear Lake is actually right behind us in these group photos, but you can’t really tell since its frozen.
Hope you enjoyed a glimpse of my trip to Big Bear!! It was a great weekend and I can’t wait for my next vacation trip.
Thanks for reading~
xoxo Sarah
