Here’s a quick and easy DIY that I did for my bridesmaids and my dress coat hangers.
I really didn’t see a use in buying those wedding hangers that spell out names using wires, especially at $30-45 each hanger. Wow, what a huge waste of money for something you throw into your closet and forget about!
This was my solution to having cute hangers on a budget to use for pre-wedding day photos.
What you need:
- Hangers
- Pretty Paper
- 2″ Circle Puncher
- Ribbon
- Yarn or Twine/Burlap String
- Single Hole Punch
- Marker or Pen
How to:
I used left over paper from my wedding invitations and punched out a couple 2″ circles. Then I used a single hole punch on the two 2″ circles to prepare a hole for my natural twine string. On one of the 2″ circles, I wrote with my calligraphy marker the person’s name, and on the other circle I wrote whose wedding it was and the date. Next you string the natural twine through the holes that you punched and tie it to your hanger. I chose this particular type of hanger because my bridesmaid dresses are all strapless. For the final touch, I tied a white ribbon to the base of the hook. All of my bridesmaids got white ribbons, while I chose purple for mine (the bride).
This is what the bridesmaid’s hangers look like!
Also, this is what it looks like when you hang the dress. My friend Jiawen ended up not wanting to clamp her dress, but the hanger still holds up the dress very well without it.
Here’s how my hanger turned out. The purple matches my bridesmaid’s dress color, and I think it will look amazing with my wedding dress on it!
In total, I created 7 hangers. 6 bridesmaids + 1 bride! I got these hangers in a set from Ross for about $7 total. Definitely worth the money for this simple and easy DIY project.
Hope you enjoyed this quick little wedding update!
I now have less than 2 weeks before the wedding.
