3 Concept Eyes (3CE) Highlight Beam Review

3 concept eyes 3ce highlight beam

Hello! Sorry for my lack of posts the last two weeks. Usually I try to post twice a week, but this week and last week I only managed to post once a week.

This coming Saturday will be my Bridal Shower and Bachelorette Party Part Deux. Crazy thing is, I still have a ton of things to plan! My sister and cousin are coming in from out of town, so I still need to clean the house and prepare rooms for them to stay. Also, I haven’t even figured out the food for the Bridal Shower yet, or let alone make any party favors. Oii, it’s gonna be a long day trying to get everything together. Worst part is, I think I’m coming down with a cold! Such horrible timing…

Alright, enough talk about my life. Let’s have a look at today’s review!!

Once again, this product was sponsored by Alice from W2 Beauty Shop. In case you missed my last post, she sells over 9,000 popular Korean beauty products. Whatever it is that you’re looking for, she probably sells it for a reasonable price. If you shop at W2 Beauty Shop, you can be sure that you are receiving genuine & untampered with products. Even better, Alice offers free shipping and lots of samples!! Definitely check out her shop!

This is the 3 Concept Eyes (3CE) Highlighting Beam (~$26). It’s a highlighter that you can use for a bright and glowing face, and shimmering body. It comes in a 50ml container.

Each product comes with a seal to show whether or not the product has been tampered with. I didn’t see the seal before taking this photo, so I accidentally took off the cap and ruined the seal. At least you can see how the seal would look if someone had opened it.

The highlighter is dispensed through a small nozzle. All you need to do is push the top of it, sorta like a shaving cream container, and the highlighting makeup will come out.

Below is what I got from one full pump. Use half a pump for the face, and full pumps for the body.

The base of the highlighter is pink colored. It creates a blooming effect, brightening up your skin tone. The reflection is created by pearl particles that help make your skin look flawless and creates a dimensional look.

This formula is thick, but it is not sticky. The highlighter can be easily spread and applied on all parts of the body.

Here’s what my skin looks like without the highlight beam and with it. As you can see, my skin looks a lot more healthy on the right side. Not only is the texture and color better, but my skin sort of looks like it is glowing.

Tips for highlighting your body:

  • Highlight prominent bones that stick out (ex: clavicle)
  • Use on parts of your body that you want to make pop out (ex: tops of breasts)
  • Draw a line down the front of your legs/arms and blend
  • Apply to your shoulder tops

Now that we’ve briefly gone over how to highlight the body, let’s take a closer look at how to highlight the face.

Make sure to apply highlighter above your eyebrows, below your eyes, down your nose, around your nostrils, above your lip line, and your chin.

Blend the make up by gently patting it into your skin. It might not be the easiest highlighter to blend, but you should be done after a few careful pats.

I didn’t have any trouble with the highlighter moving around my foundation, so that’s a plus. In case you are wondering what I’m wearing, it’s the Hourglass Primer & DiorSkin Forever Liquid Foundation.

Do you prefer the left or right side? What highlighter do you use?

Overall, I think this product is great. I will definitely be using it to highlight my body when I go out. As for highlighting my face, I’m not too sure how I feel about it yet. I think it looks amazing in person, but I don’t think it photographs as nicely as it could. In person, the highlighting on the face makes me look very awake and almost like a Korean celebrity. But photos however, it seems that the “pearls” in the product reflect too much for my liking. I guess this product is one of those that are better for some occasions more than others.

3CE Highlighting Beam Overall Rating: ★★★★★

  • I find this price to be affordable, especially since you can use it on your face & body
  • The pink base is suitable for most skin tones
  • The product is long lasting, so you don’t need to worry about reapplying
  • A little goes a long way
  • Reflecting pearls help make the skin look flawless and have a healthy glow
  • May be too reflecting in photos or certain angles, but that’s a difference in opinion
  • Non-sticky formula
  • Easy to use and apply, even your boyfriend can do it for you
  • This makes a better body highlighter than it does a face highlighter
  • Bottom line: Would I purchase again? Do I recommend? Yes and yes.

  1. Hi hi, glad to see another stylenanda review. =) What is the purpose of highlighting under your nose and on the nostrils? Doesn’t that make it seem longer? Or is it the opposite? I’m not great at visualizing these things, but I always figured people would want to downplay those parts of their face. What about highlighting the upper lip–I’ve heard of doing the cupids bow for more volume/depth, so does doing the whole upper lip help with volumizing the entire upper lip? I think the upper half of your face looked better on the highlighted side, but I don’t think the bottom half needed the highlighting.

    1. hello! thanks for your very thoughtful comment. lots of truths!! everything you said is pretty much spot on. it IS weird to highlight under your nose and around the nostrils. i think this might be better on a case by case basis. the reason why i highlighted those areas was because it naturally looks a bit darker there. highlighting that area actually helps make my nose look thinner when pair together correctly with some brown contouring (which i didn’t do in this photo). hahaha and yeaaa as for the highlighting the upper lip, I actually mean to do the cupids bow area and not the entire lip. i accidentally globed on a tad bit too much there!! if i would highlight all over again, i would keep everything the same and just not highlight the chin 🙂

  2. I think the effect of this highlighter is really very subtle and I like that a lot because the last thing you want is to note that the illuminator. Very good product.

    1. yes exactly! you don’t want people to look at your face and think, wtf, why are you so shinny!?! i love this product cuz it gives the effect of.. wow, your skin is glowing but i have no idea why, what’s your secret. hehehe~

  3. Great review! 🙂
