Danni Professional Mousse Concealer Review

danni professional concealer mac makeup review

Earlier today I messaged my friend saying, “Happy Hump Day!” — and she replied back saying that today doesn’t count as a hump day since it’s a shorter work week.

Oh well, at least I’m grateful for the shorter work week because of Independence Day! Are you gals doing anything special for 4th of July? I decided last minute that I’m going to have a BBQ. The funny part is I have no idea when I’ll be able to prepare for the party, hahaha.

Alright, enough with my useless jibber-jabber.

Let’s move on to what this post is really about: Danni Professional Moose Concealer

This product was sponsored by BornPrettyStore.com and can be found on their website for less than $6!

The concealer comes in 3 different shades:

  1. 001 – fair
  2. 002 – light to medium
  3. 003 – medium to tan

I personally wish that there were more shades available since 3 shades are sort of hard to match between. The lightest shade is actually too light for me, and the middle shade is a bit too warm for my skin tone. I guess you get what you pay for (a limited selection). However, if you do find a shade that matches you, kudos to you! Because this is actually a great product.

My current spot concealer that I use is MAC’s Studio Finish Concealer in NC30. This is my PERFECT skin color. Read my review on the MAC concealer here.

I would say overall, the two have about the same about of coverage. Danni actually looks more natural on my skin because of the mousse texture, where as the MAC concealer is more visible to the naked eye.

Here’s a close up of the mousse concealer. The texture of it is slippery and smooth. Right when you touch it your finger will glide across the concealer. It’s almost like touching warm butter, lol.

When applying, you can use your finger, but it’s actually much better to use a brush. Born Pretty Store sells this product with a brush for an extra $2. I didn’t get the brush, but instead used my Sephora concealer brush.

I like to do tests to see how well the concealer covers different colors. Below I have black liquid eyeliner, brown eyebrow pencil, and orange lip liner. These colors are meant to represent different natural skin pigmentations.

If you hadn’t seen the before photo, you probably wouldn’t have noticed any other lines in the after photo except for the black one. But of course if you look closely enough you can see the other lines. However for the purpose of the concealer, I think that Danni Professional does a pretty darn good job!

Finally, here is the test on my skin. In the image on the left, I have no make up what-so-ever on my skin. On the right side, I am not wearing any foundation, lotion, bb or cc cream… nada! Just simply using the mousse concealer on my spots.

Honestly, after applying the concealer while looking in the mirror, I was pretty shocked by the outstanding results. The coverage is superb and the visibility of the concealer is nearly impossible to spot (other than the shade difference).

Overall, this concealer is pretty awesome in every way possible, really! And it lasts all day with no trouble. All you need to do is make sure to set it with powder and you’re done. The biggest problem for me though (and this is a big problem), is that the color doesn’t match my skin.

Danni Professional Mousse Concealer (002) Rating: ★★★★☆

  • High coverage – hides brown and red spots very well, and lightens moles and dark spots
  • Super moisturizing, great for dry skin
  • Texture is smooth, silky, and slippery
  • There’s no scent that I noticed
  • Doesn’t make me break out
  • Small size, but could be even smaller
  • I am not a fan of the screw off lid, I prefer my MAC hinged lid
  • Blends very easily
  • Affordable price
  • Biggest problem – only comes in 3 shades (my main reason for taking off a star)

    1. it is pretty great, i’ve been carrying it around with me in my purse, lol. the color difference is less noticeable if i have foundation on, so thats a relief. also, i feel like you don’t notice as much in person (lol hope this is true and that i’m not being a blind retard walking around with colored spots on my face xD)
