Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Balancing Facial Cleanser Review

sibu beauty sea buckthorn balancing facial cleaner review

Yay, it’s Friday!! And also almost the end of the 2013 with just 4 more days left. What’s everyone doing for New Years Eve?

I’ve been so busy with wedding planning that I haven’t even began thinking about NYE! I’ll be going on my bachelorette party exactly 1 week from now, and I haven’t prepared for it at all!! So if anything, that’s what I need to start thinking about. Haha, forget NYE for me~

Ok, enough about me and my life, let’s have a look at my review for today.

I was sponsored this lovely product from Sibu Beauty. This came at the perfect time, as I was running out of my current face wash and was looking for a new replacement. I’m happy to say that before writing this review, I have had the chance to use this face wash night and day for almost 2 weeks.

The Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Balancing Facial Cleanser is available on their website for $17.95.

To give you a little background on Sibu Beauty, all of their products use Sea Buckthorn as their foundation ingredient. Sea Buckthorn is known as a powerful holy fruit.

Sibu Sea Buckthorn Berries are:

  • All Natural
  • Wild-crafted
  • Easily Sustainable
  • Fair Trade
  • Full of Omegas 3, 6, 7 & 9
  • Natural Source of Vitamins A, B, C & E
  • Gluten-free
  • Powerful Antioxidant/190 bioactive nutrients

The often elusive Omega 7 is found abundantly in the sea buckthorn berry, the key ingredient in all Sibu Beauty products, in addition to the more common Omega’s 3, 6, and 9.  All four of these are critical in providing cellular support for healthy skin, hair and nails.

All of Sibu Beauty’s products are also cruelty free and vegan! Please support these types of ethical brands!

The Balancing Facial Cleanser has an easy to use pump to push out the product.  I believe all face washes should use a pump system because it just makes sense!

One pump is all you need, and it should be plenty to wash your entire face.

This facial cleanser is perfect and effective for every age and leaves the skin looking and feeling good. It can be used to remove most makeups, and also removes excess oil and impurities. The formula is a non-foaming gel with micro-particles that provide for a gentle exfoliation.

How to Use:
Simply wet your hands with lukewarm water (you can wet your face too if you would like), and work facial cleanser into a lather. Gently massage the cleanser onto your face and rinse. Use this morning and night.

For those who are curious on how well this product can remove makeup, below is a gif that sorta shows it.

All of these makeup products are waterproof, but keep in mind that it’s probably harder to remove when you’re dealing with such a delicate surface such as your eye.

Usually I run into a little bit of trouble with removing my mascara and eyeliner. About 70% of the makeup comes off with gentle circular motions, but I almost always end up grabbing a q-tip and eye makeup remover to get the job done.

Overall, I think this is a great facial cleanser. It does its job of cleaning the face and leaves my skin looking refreshed and bright. I haven’t had any break outs or allergic reactions to the product. One thing I can note about the face wash is that it has a very strong citrus smell. Almost like oranges? I’m not a fan of orange scent, so I wasn’t too fond of that aspect, but the results were good so I can’t really complain much. It really is a great product, so if you are in search of a new facial cleanser to try, I do recommend this product.

Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Balancing Facial Cleanser Overall Rating: ★★★★★

  • A great cleanser for normal skin
  • Non-drying
  • Doesn’t cause break outs
  • There are micro-particles (much smaller than average) that provide for gentle exfoliation
  • Removes excess oil and impurities
  • Skin looks smooth, refreshed, and bright after washing
  • Does a decent job in removing makeup
  • Doesn’t foam and is easy to rinse off
  • Product is cruelty free and vegan
  • Easy to use pump
  • Has a strong citrus scent
  • Price is on the higher end, but I think the quality of it makes up for the cost

  5. I love orange scents, so I would probably love the way it smells. This product sounds great! I like that it is in a pump. I’m currently using Aquafina from LUSH. I have extremely dry skin so I have to have a face wash that intentionally adds moisture.

    1. you know what, i have pretty dry skin as well.. but i’ve been fixing that problem through more intensive moisturizers. i’ll have to look into Aquafina if it helps add moisture to your skin! thanks for letting me know what you use 🙂

  6. Great review. I have never heard of this product before but it sounds like something I should try. Currently I’m using Dermatouch and Garnier. They are not too fancy, but I like them!
